Kendall County Earth Day Gathering

April 7, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$125

Join us on Wednesday, April 7th at our Kendall County Earth Day Gathering for food and drinks, LIVE MUSIC (ohhh haven’t we been missing that!!) and a cozy evening around a campfire where we can toast marshmallows, toast each other (from a safe distance), celebrate the hard-earned bright spots and wisdom we have gained through the challenges of the past year, and rekindle our inner sparks to light up the future.

We’ll be gathering at Hoover Forest Preserve’s Meadowhawk Lodge in Yorkville to rock it out with Sandwich-based band Redhorse, a beer, glass of wine or other beverage in hand, and indulging in savory heavy hors d’ oeuvres.  Dress comfortably in preparation for a casual vibe and evening spent outdoors.  Masks and social distancing will be required for everyone’s safety and comfort.

Tickets are $125/person and the event is limited to 50 people.

The Sandwich-based band Redhorse, headlined by our friend and Illinois Department of Natural Resources Stream Specialist Steve Pescitelli,  performs a wide variety of home grown original music: rock and roll, blues, Americana/country, and folk rock  including classic and contemporary covers.  Many of their o

riginal songs pay homage to local nature and conservation, and they have a very endearing habit of producing albums and donating all of their proceeds!!!  This is feel-good music at its finest.   Redhorse is as excited to make music for us as we are to hear them!

Hoover Forest Preserve in Yorkville is one of Kendall County’s crown jewels.  With 400 acres of wooded bluffs, steep ravines, unique prairie remnants and about a mile of Fox river frontage, an exploration of Hoover moves you through a variety of habitats, each more scenic than the next.  The most fortunate guests can catch a glimpse of the enormous Pileated Woodpecker, known to nest in this preserve!
Our gracious hosts at the Kendall County Forest Preserve District will be treating us to a perfect evening on the stone patio at Meadowhawk Lodge, where we’ll enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres, the music of Redhorse, s’mores around the campfire, and a dazzling sunset as we celebrate the Bright Spots

of the past year.

Hoover Forest Preserve is located at 11285 Fox Road in Yorkville.  Meadowhawk Lodge will be on your right after you cross the railroad tracks inside the park entrance.
