Please join us for our Fall Membership & Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 14th, 2019, 5pm to 8:15pm at the historic Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora.
We all know that land conservation is important to our quality of life and improves the health of our communities. But how do we talk to others about this in ways that resonate with them and what they care about?
Our President/ CEO Brook McDonald has decades of experience gathering polling data from voters in the region and has recently spearheaded a project to distill years of data and research down into succinct conservation messages that we know from the polling data are effective. He’ll share these messages, and insights into what voters care about and how we should be talking to our neighbors and friends about the value of land preservation and conservation. He will also share thoughts on how potential 2020 open space referenda can improve our water and air quality, preserve wildlife habitat and create more green spaces for people to enjoy. Empower yourself to be an advocate for conservation so you can say the right things and yield the most positive results.
We’ll also be honoring Sue Harney of Dundee Township with the first-ever Tom Weisner Award for exhibiting exemplary environmental leadership as a local elected official.
The Two Brothers Roundhouse is located at 205 N Broadway in downtown Aurora.
The Two Brothers Roundhouse main parking lot entrance is accessible off of Broadway (Route 25) or you can enter the parking lot via Spring Street behind the Holiday Inn Express. Spring Street is located at the first stop light, just south of the Roundhouse. You are asked not to park in the Holiday Inn Express parking lot as you may be towed.
