Spinach Recipes

Spinach (Spinacia oleracea) is a leafy green vegetable that originated in Persia. It belongs to the amaranth family and is remarkedly related to beets and quinoa. It’s a highly-nutritious leafy green packed with antioxidants, vitamins A, C and K1 along with folic acid and iron.

To maximize the shelf life of raw spinach, keep it refrigerated in a bag or greens container and do not wash it until you’re ready to use it.  Properly stored, raw spinach will usually keep well for about 5 to 7 days in the refrigerator.

Spinach can be eaten raw or sautéed, added to soups, stews or blanched and frozen for later use.
