The Conservation Foundation provides technical staff to the DuPage River Salt Creek Workgroup, Lower DuPage River Watershed Coalition, and Lower Des Plaines Watershed Group.
We are seeking a full time Environmental Scientist who will be dedicated to providing technical services to these three watershed groups. The DuPage River Salt Creek Workgroup, Lower DuPage River Watershed Coalition, and Lower Des Plaines Watershed Group are data-driven, forward thinking, not-for-profit organizations that analyze and implement strategies to achieve Clean Water Act (CWA) goals in the DuPage River, Salt Creek, and Lower Des Plaines River Watershed. Membership of the watershed groups is comprised of publicly owned treatment works, local governments, citizen advocacy groups, and professional firms focused on meeting the designated use for aquatic life. Each watershed group is governed by an independent Executive Board responsible for setting the respective group’s agenda and strategic direction.
The Environmental Scientist will work with the Watershed Group Technical Staff as part of a team to implement basin assessment activities and the development of Nutrient Implementation Plans/Nutrient Assessment and Reduction Plans. Additionally, the Environmental Scientist will assist with core activities including field sampling and database management. This is a full-time, year-round position.
