June 22, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Less and More Modernism Greets the River Landscape graphic

Wheaton artist Joel Sheesley, who was Artist-In-Residence for The Conservation Foundation’s Art of the Fox initiative, is opening a new art show at the acclaimed Farnsworth House along the Fox River in Plano.  We are thrilled to be co-hosting the show’s opening reception with the Farnsworth House, and invite you to join us on Sunday, July 11th from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.  We’ll be gathering in the Barnsworth Gallery at the Farnsworth House, 14520 River Rd, Plano, IL 60545.

Joel will be on site to discuss his experiences and work of the last year and will sign copies of his book, A Fox River Testimony from 3:30pm to 4:30pm.  This book features more than seventy of his paintings of the Fox River and was published in 2017 in partnership with The Conservation Foundation. Copies of the book are limited so advance purchase for July 11th pick-up is suggested. Visit the Farnsworth House Museum Shop online to reserve your copy for signing.  After July 11, the exhibition may be seen with the purchase of a guided tour ticket. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
