Introducing Our New Director of Advancement

At The Conservation Foundation we work every day in the humble acknowledgment that all of our programs depend upon the support of our members and donors. Our Advancement Staff are the caretakers of those relationships, and we are currently in the midst of a major change in our Advancement Team.  Upon the retirement of Chere Hayes, our Director of Advancement of the last 17 years, we would like to formally introduce Steve Baldwin, who is now leading our Advancement Staff as our new Director of Advancement.

Steve brings a strong mix of non-profit and business management, marketing, educational and fundraising skills to our organization.  He has been a leader and consultant in the non-profit sector for more than 15 years with organizations including the Petco Foundation, Joliet Catholic Academy, OMNI Youth Services, Resurrection Healthcare and Guerin Preparatory High School.  He is also a member of the faculty at Robert Morris University, College of Business and holds an MLS and MBA in marketing and an undergraduate degree in economics.

“To be part of a group that is doing this much-needed work to preserve land and open space for my daughters and sons and generations to come is truly special. To meld my personal enjoyment of the outdoors along with my professional endeavors is a rarity for which I am most grateful,” said Steve about joining The Conservation Foundation.

Steve has spent the last couple of months getting to know The Conservation Foundation, our staff and the depth and breadth of our programs and he has hit the ground running for the last week or so!

In his free time, Steve enjoys bicycle riding, snowmobiling, skydiving and hockey. He is the proud father of four children – 2 girls and 2 boys.  He and his wife Natasha make their family’s home in South Barrington.   He has big shoes to fill, but we believe you’ll enjoy getting to know Steve and working with him as much as we have.  Welcome, Steve!

You can reach Steve at 630-428-4500, Ext. 135 or [email protected].
