Naperville Waterway Cleanup
September 21, 2019 @ 8:45 am - 12:00 pm
To celebrate the third annual statewide Illinois Waterway Cleanup Week, join us all for the Naperville Waterway Cleanup.
Illinois Global Scholar is partnering with a variety of local, state, regional, national, and international organizations to promote the third annual Illinois Waterway Cleanup Week. This opportunity is designed to provide students and community members with the opportunity to act locally to make an impact globally.
This initiative encourages students and communities across our state to work together to clean up community waterways. Using the Ocean Conservancy’s Clean Swell app, students and other volunteers can record cleanup data, placing it into a database of over 800,000 individuals across the world carrying out similar cleanups in the same week!! In fact, your cleanup will appear on a world map of cleanups!
For interested participants, there are just a few easy steps:
#2 – Decide where to meet! On Saturday at NCHS Bus Circle at 8:15 am or Knoch Knolls at 8:45 am.
#3 – Remind your students! They should come prepared (permission slip, right attire, right attitude, and download the “Clean Swell” app so that you can assist in the data collection too.
#4 – Celebrate the success! A great way to serve and a great way to build positive relationships within our groups as we start the new school year.
